Your files never leave your device: they are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How it works

  1. 1Drop your photos on the box above, choose them from your device or paste them from the clipboard. Up to 20 at a time.
  2. 2Leave the quality at 75% for everyday use, or switch to Target size when a website accepts only files under a certain number of KB.
  3. 3Save each smaller image on its own, or download the whole batch as one ZIP file.

Why make images smaller

Photos from a modern phone often weigh 3 to 10 MB. That is far more than a web page, an email or a chat needs: big images make pages load slowly, fill up phone and cloud storage, and quickly hit the 20 to 25 MB attachment limit of most email services.

An image compressor removes detail the eye barely sees and stores the rest more efficiently. A 4 MB photo often ends up under 1 MB and looks the same on screen, so it uploads faster, sends faster and takes about a quarter of the space.

Works on any device, nothing to install

The compressor runs in your web browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPhone and Chromebook. There is no app to download, no account to create and no watermark on the results.

Your images are processed on your own device, not on a server. They are never uploaded or stored, which makes the tool safe for scanned documents, ID photos and private pictures.

Frequently asked questions

What does an image compressor do?

It makes image files smaller. Lossy compression, used for JPG and WebP, drops fine detail that is hard to see; lossless compression, used for PNG, stores the same pixels more compactly. The width and height stay the same, unless a very small target size can only be reached by scaling the image down.

Can I compress images on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in the browser on your iPhone or Android phone, tap the box to pick photos from your gallery, then save the results. It works in current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

How many images can I compress at once?

Up to 20 images per batch, each up to 50 MB. They are compressed one after another; download them separately or together in one ZIP file, then start a new batch.

Which file types does it accept?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF. JPG, PNG and WebP keep their format unless you pick another one; GIF, BMP and AVIF files are saved as JPG, or as WebP when they have transparent areas.

Should I choose Quality or Target size?

Choose Quality when you simply want lighter files for a website, an email or your gallery: 75% is a good start. Choose Target size when a form or portal sets a limit such as 100 KB or 50 KB; the compressor then finds the best quality that fits.
